Panda Breeding Research Center is located 10km away from downtown Chengdu.
The giant pandas are loved by people all over the world. But they are
very rare for the total are fewer than 1000. They are found only in our
country in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, and 80% are in Sichuan
province. The Panda Breeding Research Center was found in order to provide
pandas the best possible environment. The necessary facilities for giant
pandas have been completed including a fodder room, sleeping quarters
and a medical station. Additionally the Giant Panda Museum was opened
in 1993. This is the world's only thematic museum for rare and endangered
animal species. There are also research laboratories and a training center.
Ten thousand clumps of bamboos and bushes have been cultivated to provide
for the giant pandas' diet and habitat.
The Center cares also for other rare and endangered wild animals including
black-necked cranes, white storks as well as over 20 species of rare animals.
Rare animals, verdant plants, fresh air and beautiful artificial view
are combined unique view at this area.
