Guangzhou Xiguan Two Days Tour

Day 1. Be picked up from your hotel at 09:00 am.
Then we will take one day tour of Chen Clan.
Built between 1890 and 1894 during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, This ancestral temple is the largest, best preserved and best decorated ancient architecture existing in Guangdong province. The temple used to provide lodgings for candidates of the Chen family who came to Guangdong to prepare for imperial examinations in Guangzhou. Hence it was also called Chen Clan Academy.

Move on to visit Xiguan Ancient Grand House built by the rich and powerful families. These buildings are grand and bright with their halls and gardens combined with each other and decorated brilliantly. Then we will visit Liwan Museum, the Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King. Enjoy the Cantonese Tunes and Cantonese Opera in Qingping Restaurant. Cantonese Opera is the traditional opera of our country. It is a theme worthy of research. We can investigate its origins, history and change. It is one of the largest drama classes in Guangdong.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the tour. (Lunch)

Day 2. Be picked up from your hotel at 09:00 am.
Visit Qinqpin Market. Qingping Market is the largest and most famous free market in Guangzhou, covering an area of over 6,000 square meters. There are over 2,000 stalls on this crossed 1200-meter-long street. The various products can be found here including meat, seafood, eggs and vegetables, flowers, birds, fishes, dried food and medicine, etc. Qingping Chinese Herbal Medicines Market is one of the first specialized markets opened in China.

Then visit Xiguan Commodity Corridor, one of three business center in Guangzhou. The architecture of Qi Lou first built in the Qing Dynasty are well preserved here.

Visit Liwan Square. The Square is a a large scale modernized group business building, composing of restaurants, shopping and entertainment centre.

Move on to visit the Landing Place Where Chain Sect Ancestor Bodhidharma came to China from India (the first landing place from the west), Hualin Temple. The 500 Arhat Statue Hall was built in the second year (964) of the Qiande reign in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). Although it has been reconstructed many times in the Ming and the Qing Dynasties, the components as the main girder frame and the dougong are original.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the tour. (Lunch)
