Solitary Beauty Peak

Solitary Beauty Peak (Duxiu Feng) is one of Guilin's most prominent karst peaks and is located in the city center. It has acquired a fame of "the Pillar Holding up the Southern Sky" because of its majesty. Climbing 306 steps up the steep, visitors can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding hills, the Li River and the town of Guilin.

On Duxiu Feng's western slope, 306 steps lead up to Nantian Men, Southern Celestial Gate. From there, one can enjoy a wonderful view of the city and its environment. On the eastern cliff, there are a number of caves decorated with inscriptions, some dating back to the Tang dynasty.
