Poyang Lake

Poyang Lake, located in the northern part of Jiujiang, is the largest fresh-water lake in China.

With a total area of 3,585 square kilometers, Poyang Lake stretches 170 kilometers from north to south and spans 74 kilometers. Decorated by the beautiful lakes and enchanting mountains, there are 44 natural reserves and 58 forest parks. It is an ideal heaven for birds as it is a national protection sanctuary for wild migrants birds. Many rare birds can be found here in autumn and winter seasons, such like white crane, white & black storks, white spoonbills, whistling swans, pelicaus and bustars.

Poyang Lake is also a wonderful scenic spot.The wonder of Luoxing Boulder rises from the lake. It is said that the boulder is a star fallen from the Heaven, which has never been submerged in water no matter how high the tide is.
