Suojiang
Tower, located
along the banks of the Yantze River in northeastern Jiujiang,the symbol
of the Jiujiang city.
Suojiang
Tower, 35 meters high, was firstly built during Wanli Reign of Ming Dynasty by an official
Wuxiu. The tower was built to protect the people from floods. The hexagonal
seven-storied pagoda was built in 1585. The interior wooden staircase
in the tower can reach the top of the pagoda where you can have a panoramic
view of the Yangtze River.
