Internal Transport: There are some buses to Guiyang, the capital city and the surrounding towns and villages such as Zhenyuan Town, Leishan Town, Rongjiang Town, Congjiang Town, Taijiang Town. Taxi is also good choice to get around in Kaili. Taxi fee is not as high as other big cities; also it is fast and convenient. Langde Miao Village: The Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village is about 50 kilometers north of Kaili, situated on the crystal Danjiang riverside and circled by green Leigong Mountain. Langde Miao Village is considered small with around 500 villagers in ten families,.The villagers in Langde wear long skirts and they are called “Long Skirt Miao”. The Miao style houses “Diaojiaolou” exhibits traditional Miao architecture. It is one of the best places in Guizhou to experience the authentic ethnic Miao culture.
Kaili Sunday Market: It is a fabulous place to get a glimpse of the local ethnic lifestyle because the Miao and Dong ethnic people in the surrounding villages stream in to the Sunday Market to sell their wares. They come to Sunday Market every Sunday, and sell all kinds of products such as ethnic arts and crafts, Chinese herbs, fresh food, vegetables, fruits and livestock. Xijiang Miao Ethnic Village: The village is about 80 kilometers away from Kaili and it will take you an hour to travel from Kaili to Xijiang by automobile. Miao Minority in Xijiang has a long history dating back to Chiyou tribe in 559 BC. They had their own Miao culture even before they migrated to Xijiang. It is the largest Miao ethnic village all over the world. Anthropologists and experts on folklore consider this as the well-reserved region of ’primitive ecological environment’ of Miao Minority.
Kaili Ethnic Museum: It is located in Miao Nationality Village at Shanglangde of Leishan County. The museum is an open-air museum of nationality culture and customs, In this museum, visitors will not only see the minor nationality women doing craft jobs, such as embroidering, plaiting, brocading, spinning, and cross-stitching, but also receive a very special but grand reception from the villagers. Though museum has 12 exhibition halls, only 4 exhibition halls are open to the public now of which Minority Customs Hall and the Dragon Boat Hall are important and worthy to visit.
