Detail Itinerary of Kunming Dali Lijiang Tour

Day 1. Arrival in Kunming
Our guide will pick you up at Kunming airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.


Day 2. Kunming
Be picked up from the hotel in the morning. Visit Stone Forest, one of China's most remarkable natural phenomena located 90 km southeast of Kunming. Due to a process of weathering and erosion, nature has created an art gallery of stone sculpture here. Visit the Golden Temple. On the Mingfeng Mountains, seven kilometres to the east of Kunming, it is a fine building made of bronze, first built in the 30th year of Emperor Wanli's rule (1602) in the Ming Dynasty. This is the largest Taoist Tongwa (bronze-tiled) Temple in China and has been preserved almost intact. Be transferred back to hotel after the tour. (Breakfast, Lunch)


Day 3. Kunming - Dali
Take the morning flight to Dali and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Erhai Lake Park. The unique natural scenery of the Cangshan Mountain and the Erhai Sea as the background and the unique natural environment of the Tuanshan Mountain with artificial ingenuity create this big park. Keep on visiting the Three Pagoda. The three elegant pagodas arise on the Cangshan Mountain slope overlooking the Erhai Lake. The tallest of the three, Qianxun Pagoda, has 16 tiers that reach a height of 69.13 metres. Have a tour to the South Gate of the Dali ancient town and transfer to Foreigner Street. You can let your guide/driver go home and have the dinner by yourselves. (Breakfast, Lunch)


Day 4. Dali - Lijiang
Drive to Lijiang, visit the Yan's Compound of Bai Minority in Xizhou and the tie--dyeing in Zhoucheng, where you can enjoy lovely ethical clothes, fairylike programs, decorative architectures, gifted garden parties and wonderful handicrafts. Check in at the hotel. Enjoy the Naxi Ancient Music and Dance Performance at Dongba Palace in the evening. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)


Day 5. Lijiang
Visit the Square Street of the Lijiang Old Town. The town was built in the late song dynasty and the early Yuan dynasty and was listed by the UNESCO on the list of the world's major cultural heritages in 1997. The rest of day is free for you to explore the town. You can wander through the beautiful town and have lunch and dinner in the town by yourselves in the afternoon. (Breakfast)


Day 6. Lijiang
Be picked up from the hotel in the morning. Visit the Baishui Tableland, the birthplace of Naxi Minority Ethnic Tribe and their culture-Dongba, a wonder of water and limestone. Have a tour to the Dry Sea. Take the cable car to Spruce Plateau and overlook the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The mountain consists of 13 peaks. Among of them, the highest one is 18000 feet above sea level. It is a treasure of wild plants and rare animals. Then move on to visit the Baisha Village, a place you cannot afford to miss as it is a living showcase of ancient Dongba culture. Keep on to visiting a local Naxi family, where travelers can enjoy the Naxi Minorities evening party and Naxi farmer food. Then go to visit the Baisha Murals. With the spread of the Buddhism, people painted plenty of murals on the walls in temples since Ming Dynasty. Go to visit the Rock Joseph's Former Residence in Yuhu Village, a simple village of Naxi minority with the former residence of Dr. Joseph Rock. Dr. Rock is best remembered for one of the first westerners to spread the long-isolated Naxi culture worldwide and his rigorous works on Naxi ethnology. Be transferred to hotel after the tour. Day 7. Lijiang - Kunming
Take flight back to Kunming and transfer to the hotel. Visit the famous Buddhist Qiongzhu Temple on the beautiful wooded Yu'an Mountain. The temple and the bamboo forest that surround it have a wonderful and mysterious legend about their origins. Take a visit to the Daguan Park. It neighbors Dianchi Lake in the western part of Kunming City. Rock formations, pavilions, bridges and crystal clear water are interwoven, providing you with the perfect chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern city life. Move on to visit the Flowers and Birds Market, a part of a series of streets and markets in central Kunming where an attempt has been made to preserve some of the typical architecture of the region. Traditional wooden houses with grass growing from their roofs line the streets where a variety of products are sold, including of course a small alley devoted to flowers and cage birds. Be transferred to hotel after the tour. (Breakfast, Lunch)


Day 8. Departure from Kunming
Be transferred to the airport for departure. (Breakfast)
