Day Tour of Qianling Mausoleum and Famen Monastery
Pick

accommodation place at 09:00 am. Take a one day tour to visit Xianyang
Museum (also called Xianyang Terracotta Museum) focuses its exhibition
on the historical relics of the Qin and the Han dynasties. Xianyang
City is 28 kilometers away from Xi'an. It was the capital of the famous
Qin Dynasty in Chinese history.
Then we will visit Maoling Mausoleum - the tomb of Emperor Wudi in
the Western Han Dynasty. It is the biggest mausoleum of the Western
Han Dynasty (206BC-8AD). Then
Proceed to visit Qianling Mausoleum -the joint tomb of Emperor Tang
Gaozong and Empress Wu Zetian, the only Empress in Chinese history.
Move on to visit Famen Temple /Monastery and Famen Museum. First built
in East Han Dynasty (25 - 220), Famen Temple was the famous temple
as dagoba for the bones of Sakyamuni. Be transferred back to your
accommodation place. (Lunch included)

Attractions
Famen Monastery: Situated some 118 kilometers (73 miles) west of Xian, the Famen Temple gained the name Famen (which means the initial approach to become a Buddhist believer) in the Tang dynasty when a wooden four-storey structure was built replacing the original Ashoka Stupa built in the Eastern Han dynasty. The temple boasts that it is the largest of this kind ever discovered with the remains of the finger bones of Sakyamuni.
Qianling
: Qianling the tomb of the third Tang emperor, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu
Zetian, is located on Liangshan Mountain, 6 kilometers north of Qianxian
County seat and 80 kilometers from Xi'an. Qianling is the most typical
and best preserved of all the eighteen Tang mausoleums.Xianyang Museum: Reconstructed and opened to the public in 1962, Xianyang museum, based on a Confucian temple of the Ming dynasty, is one of the famous museums in China. It, covering an exhibition area of 1216 sqm, consists of 9 showrooms and a stele corridor, with over 15,000 cultural relics, out of which 4,000 are on display.
