Introduction
The luxurious 5-star Century Star began her maiden voyage on Sep, 12.2003. With its grand two-story lobby to the beautiful ballroom, elegant restaurant and top furnishing, the ship boasts the same comforts and amenities you would expect from a 5-star hotel.
The first thing being noticed when you looked at the photos of the Century Star may be that all of the cabins have balconies. What a great idea for river and inland cruising! There's almost always something to see when you look out your window on a river cruise, so having a private balcony is a wonderful amenity. Every cabin also has a color television, telephone, air conditioning, and of course a private bath and shower. The cabins on the ship were quite nice, and with the balconies, these promise to be even better.
The common areas on the 186-passenger Century Star include a restaurant with open seating for dinner on the main deck, and an observation lounge and bar and coffee bar on the observation deck. The Century Star also has a small exercise room, massage room, and Mah Jong room. The ship has a bar on the top deck, which should be a great vantage point when the weather is nice.
Onboard, your meals will allow a choice of Chinese or Western entrees. You'll enjoy local cuisine, but also delicately grilled salmon and tender steak on the menu. You will find a little bit fun with your cruise friends for the Chinese meals are served in traditional family style.
