Day 1: Hotel, Xixia mausoleum, Helan mt. rock carvings, Hotel. (L)
English speaking tour guide and private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel. First go to explore the Xixia mausoleum. The Royal Mausoleum of the Western Xia State is located at the eastern foot of Mt. Helan, 35 kilometers form Yinchuan. It ranks 10th among China’s National Scenic Spots. Covering an area of 50 square kilometers, the tombs buried nine kings and more than 140 royal family members of the Western Xia State. The tombs is in the shape of pyramid, hence its name the Pyramid in China.
Then we will go to enjoy Helan mt. rock carvings. The cliff carvings in Mt. Helan were done by the nomadic people in north China during the Warring States period and the Western Xia State. These carvings depict the life, religious activities, wars, herding, and hunting of the minority peoples at that time. Bold and vivid, it is a treasure house of the art of carving by the nomadic people in ancient China. The best place to admire the carvings is the entrance of Mt. Helan 40 kilometer from downtown Yinchuan.
Transfer back to hotel in Yinchuan.
Day 2: Hotel, Ming’s great wall, Shuidonggou relic site, Nanguan mosque, Haibao pagoda, Hotel. (B,L)

Visit Ming’s great wall first. It is composed of four sections: the west, the north, the east and Guyuan's inner side wall. The west wall goes along the Yellow River from Zhongwei City northeastward to Helan Mountain. The east section of Great Wall begins at Lingwu County, goes south to Yanchi City and ends in Dingbian County in Shaanxi Province. The north section links the west and the east sections together.
Then we will visit Shuidonggou relic site, one of the three sites in the late Paleolithic Ages which were firstly discovered with a history of about 30,000 years, and preserving the historical relics of human activities from Pleistocene to Recent Epochs.
Proceed to Nanguan mosque. Located in downtown Yinchuan, the mosque was first built in the late Ming Dynasty, and covers an area of 2.074 square meters. The tall domes in rich green color displays typical Moslem architectural style. The dome in the main hall measures 9.5 meters in diameter.
At last we will go to Haibao pagoda. Local known as the North Pagoda, Hai Bao Pagoda is located on the northern of Yinchuan , it is a unit of relic under state protection. Unique in style and exquisite in construction, it is a precious treasure of ancient pagodas in China.
Transfer back to your hotel. (B.L)
