Nanguan
Muslim Mosque lies in the southern suburb of Yinchuan. It was first built
in 1915, expanded in 1953, and rebuilt in 1981.
Nanguan Muslim Mosque covers an area of over 2000 square meters with the
main building is 22-meter high, which can house 1,000 worshipers. The
main building marks for a group of green domes, one big and four small
domes which are painted green and each has a sculpture of a crescent moon,
and the ground floor of it consists of a bathroom, a small prayer hall,
a prayer hall for women, an Arabic school, the imam's residence and the
reception center. In front of the building, lies a fountain with 15 meters
in diameter which is flanked by two 30-meter-high ceremonial pagodas.
These traditional Arabian-style building complexes use their elegant and
majestic welcome tourists from all over the world.
