Detail Itinerary of Chengde Half Day Tour
Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle. Visit the Temple of Potaraka Doctrine. Construction of the temple was begun in 1767 and completed almost four years later. It is modeled on the great Potala Monastery in Lhasa and is thus also known as the Little Potala. The buildings are a synthesis of Han and Tibetan styles.
Move on to visit the Temple of Universal Peace. Covering an area of 23,000 square meters, the Temple of Universal Peace (Puning si) is the furthest north of the eight remaining outer temples of Chengde. The temple has also in its time been known as the Big Buddha Temple (Dafo si). Like many other temples in Chengde, it is also designed mainly in Tibetan and Han styles. Be transferred back to your hotel after the tour. (No lunch)
