Day 1. Datong
Be
picked up from train station or from your hotel on the morning. 
Visit
the Yungang Grottoes, The three main sites in China that are famous
for their stone sculpture are Dunhuang, Longmen and Yungang. Among these,
the Yungang grottoes are considered first among equals, for their tremendous
size, ancient history, and relatively complete state of preservation.
Visit Shanhua Monastery located in central Datong within the old city
walls. It was first constructed during the Tang dynasty (618-907AD)
though most of the present wooden building dates back to the 12th century.
The temple houses some intricately carved Jin dynasty (265-420AD) statues
and has a screen wall decorated with dragons.
Have a tour to the Nine
Dragon Screen. Built over 600 years ago, it is presently the oldest
and largest glazed screen in China today. It is three times larger than
that in Beihai Park.
Be transferred back to your hotel after the tour.

Day 2. Datong, Departure
Full day tour to Sakyamuni Wooden Pagoda at Fuoguang Temple in Yingxian
County (Yingxian Wooden Pagoda).
The Pagoda is the oldest and highest
wooden structure in China with about 900 years of history and is regarded
as the "First Pagoda in the World" and a gem in the architectural
field.
Be transferred back to your hotel or to train station after the
tour.
