The temple also called Puning temple or Big Buddha Temple.
Located to the north of the Mountain Resort of Chengde, the temple of Universal Peace was built in 1755. The temple is famous for a big wooden Buddhist statue. The Buddhist Kwan-yin statue standing 22.23 meters tall, with thousand-eyes and thousand-arms. The statue is made with five kinds of lignum - pine, cypress, elm, fir and linden, and is one of the biggest preserved wooden statues in China.
Temple of Universal Peace and Temple of Potaraka Doctrine are most famous temple in Chengde.
